Ecuador – Enchanting cloud forest & impressive Wilderness

There are few places on this planet where birds and orchids can be seen as easily or in such numbers, but Ecuador is one of them. Ecuador has a wide variety of birds local to the Andes, the Amazon, or the seasonally dry forest. It is a photographer’s paradise. Ecuador is an enchanted country with an abundance of natural riches. The variety of flora and fauna is considerable, and the region has one of the highest levels of biodiversity in the world. Ecuador includes some of the most biodiverse regions in the world. The country has over 1,600 species of tropical birds. About one-third of the world’s species of hummingbirds can be found there. There are forty endemic birds, like the Andean Cock-of-the-rock. Although the majority of bird species in Ecuador are resident, the country attracts migratory birds from North America and Northern South America every year. The peak seasons for many of these species vary from place to place but generally they occur between July and December in northern Ecuador and between October to April along the Pacific coast.

What really makes Ecuador such a great destination is that it supports so very many species of tropical birds, diverse and colorful orchids, frogs, amazing species of primates, and countless other species of plants, insects, and animals that are rarely seen anywhere else on Earth. I believe that Ecuador is one of the most important biological destinations in the world and if you have ever considered visiting I encourage you to go
